In honor of Women’s History Month, 1stDibs has teamed up with fashion maven Tory Burch to curate a collection of works made entirely by female artists and makers. Burch’s selects, which range from vintage jewelry to artwork to home accessories and furniture, are personal ones, she tells ELLE DECOR. “Many of these women have inspired me,” she says.

The fashion designer’s picks include works by influential self-taught painter Clementine Hunter, French decorative artist Line Vautrin, Italian design multihyphenate Gabriella Crespi, British potter Lucie Rie (who’s influenced Burch for years), and the late fellow American fashion designer Claire McCardell. “[French avant-garde artist] Sonia Delaunay was a reference for Tory Sport spring 2022,” Burch says, citing a swirling, polychromatic rug in the collection.

Ultimately, the curation aims to be one by women, for women; throughout the month of March, 1stDibs will support the Tory Burch Foundation, a charitable organization that aims to empower and support female entrepreneurs, meaning you can give back while taking home a little slice of design her-story.

As for Burch’s personal favorites? “I’m all about an eclectic mix, whether it’s in my home or in my collections,” she says. “I was as drawn to Renate Müller’s vintage toys as I was to Lucie Rie’s pottery, Elsa Schiaparelli’s blowfish cane, and Line Vautrin’s bronze jewelry. Gabriella Crespi’s stone Photophore would be perfect for entertaining outdoors this summer.”
